In African mining sites and construction corridors, "running" is not enough. The real benchmark is continuous operation under overload, heat, dust, and rough terrain.
That is why a HOWO truck exported to Africa cannot be delivered to highway specifications. It needs a systematic second life—engine rebuilt, chassis reinforced, and systems recalibrated for the destination.
African operating conditions are unforgiving:
Ambient temperatures above 45℃
Fine red dust that accelerates turbo and cylinder wear
High-sulfur, water-contaminated diesel
Corrugated unpaved roads and steep mine gradients
Frequent overload and long downtime costs
A cosmetic "repaint" will not survive this. Engineering reset will.
We inspect before we replace.
Block, crankshaft, camshaft and connecting rods go through MT/UT flaw detection.
Cylinder liners are honed or replaced; pistons, rings, bearings and valve seats are renewed to OEM spec.
Injectors are bench-calibrated; fuel pumps are re-timed.
Multi-stage fuel-water separation protects the high-pressure fuel system.
Desert pre-cleaner + oil-bath air filtration reduces dust intake.
Enlarged radiator, recalibrated fan clutch and auxiliary oil cooling prevent overheating.
Hot running-in test verifies cylinder-pressure consistency, oil pressure, smoke and coolant temperature.
Result: restored low-end torque, better tolerance for local diesel, and easier field maintenance.
Shot-blast frame to Sa2.5, NDT on main welds, stress-area double-plate reinforcement.
Thickened multi-leaf springs, twin U-bolts, heavy-duty suspension.
HC16 hub-reduction or equivalent double-reduction axles, inter-wheel diff lock restored.
Zinc-rich epoxy primer + polyurethane topcoat + underbody wax for salt/spray corrosion.
Full air-line and hydraulic-system renewal, loaded lifting-cycle test before shipment.
West Africa haulage: larger fuel tank, desert air intake, sleeper cab.
Central Africa mines: reduction axles, mining tires, wear-steel tipper body.
East Africa rainy season: diff locks, high intake, waterproof harness connectors.
Coastal markets: marine-grade anti-corrosion package.
Emission configuration follows the destination country's legal requirement—no unauthorized deletion of compliant after-treatment systems.
Every unit ships with:
Parts replacement list (part No. + brand)
Cylinder pressure & oil pressure test data
Frame flaw-detection report
Hydraulic lifting & braking test records
Pre-shipment inspection photos
The client receives not just a truck, but a traceable engineering file their local workshop can act on immediately.
Africa-ready means:
The engine proves its cylinder pressure.
The chassis proves it has no cracks.
The configuration matches the terrain.
The documentation is auditable.
A HOWO's value in Africa is not only price. It is this: even without a dealer network nearby, a local mechanic can fix it—and get it back to work.
That is our standard for every HOWO we prepare for Africa.
